To celebrate the franchise's silver anniversary, Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders graced the cover of Madden NFL 25 (while Adrian Peterson covered the next-gen editions). On the virtual gridiron, the 2013 regular season was defined by historical dominance at the top of both conferences:

Peyton Manning’s MVP Air Show:

Peyton Manning put on a historic passing clinic in Denver, claiming both League MVP and AFC Offensive Player of the Year honors as the Broncos soared to an AFC-best 15-1 record.

The 15–1 Atlanta Falcons:

In the NFC, Mike Smith earned Coach of the Year honors by guiding the Atlanta Falcons to a conference-best 15-1 record, claiming the #1 overall seed.

The NFC West Heavyweights:

The San Francisco 49ers rolled to a 14-2 record, but the division remained an absolute battleground thanks to the defense-heavy Seattle Seahawks. Anchored by NFC Defensive Player of the Year Bobby Wagner, Seattle earned an 11-5 Wild Card berth.

Dynamic Playmakers:

Philadelphia's LeSean McCoy claimed NFC Offensive Player of the Year, leading the Eagles to a 12-4 record and the NFC East crown.

The playoffs were defined by dominant defensive performances and a historic road run from the bottom of the NFC bracket:

Starting in the AFC, the defending Super Bowl Champion #3 seed Baltimore Ravens ran over their division rivals, the #6 seed Cincinnati Bengals 34-10. Meanwhile, second-year QB Andrew Luck and the #4 seed Indianapolis Colts shut out the #5 seed Kansas City Chiefs 35-0.
