The virtual season mirrored the devastating real-world events of December 1, 2012, when Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher took the life of his girlfriend before driving to the Chiefs' practice facility and taking his own life in front of head coach Romeo Crennel, general manager Scott Pioli, and linebackers coach Gary Gibbs.
