For those of you who hadn’t heard yet, back on December 24th which was Christmas Eve, I closed down my Twitter/X account for good after 5 years. You might say that I joined the herds of people who could no longer tolerate the garbage that happens on there. There have been plenty of notables who had decided to sever ties with the platform such as George Takei and Jaime Lee Curtis just to name a few.

Now, that it has been almost a week at the time of this blog, you might be wondering how I am feeling without Twitter/X in my life? Well, to be honest, I actually don’t feel as stressed as I did when I was on Twitter/X.
In a way, closing down my account has started to show me that there is no need for anything toxic in my life whether they be people or social media platforms. Being on Twitter/X opened my eyes to plenty of people who are deranged, twisted and would much rather focus on the negative rather than the positive.
Like all social media platforms, Twitter/X has its fair share of dark secrets and topics that I don’t need to have in my life. I don’t need to be on a platform where the topics are related to politics or strongly opinionated individuals sharing their rubbish for me to read.
In recent years, I have switched my social media usage for only professional matters such as sharing my blogs and I was getting very little of that on Twitter/X. Much like with the Brony fandom, I felt that my time on Twitter/X had run it’s course and you might ask me, “Why hang onto something that’s useless?” or “Why do something that is going to create more stress and anxiety for you?”
There are plenty of social media outlets out there that are healthy and converting over to BlueSky has been one of the smartest decisions I made. Ever since my fatty liver diagnosis earlier this month, I have been working on excluding as much of the stresses that have been in my life which will end up being for the better when all is said and done.
I’ll discuss more about my relocation to BlueSky in the next blog.

Catch you all later!!
