For the final 5 blogs of 2024, I want to go further into detail about what I mentioned in Blog #495 that was released on Christmas Day. My plans for Going the Distance in 2025 are reachable, but it will take dedication and determination to reach those goals. This first blog will cover one of my planned goals for Going the Distance in 2025 which is creating a possible podcast series.

Now, you might be wondering, why create a podcast series? What’s wrong with doing blogs two times a week?
Well, there is a purpose for possibly creating a podcast series for Going the Distance. Not only do I get my message out there, but I also give people the opportunity to at least hear my voice live and in person (somewhat). As I mentioned in my previous blog, my personal advocate and my life coach both commented that I have a very nice podcaster like voice and I thought to myself, “Maybe I should take advantage of it.”
Plus the important factor that comes from podcasting is what are possible customers or clients going to get out of hearing me speak? Will they hear someone who can possibly speak in person to their organization? Their school? Their workplace? Perhaps that there may even be an organization out there that is willing to possibly sponsor me and bring in income to help with expenses for in person trainings that I conduct.

But aside from that, there are many individuals in the neurodivergent/disability community have managed to create their own podcasts and for some, it is their voice to air what is really on their minds whether the topics can range from what’s going on in the world or what experiences are going on in their lives, personally?
Many individuals do have a hard time speaking their minds, even though they want to do so. This is because they or their loved ones have a constant fear of what will happen if they do end up speaking their minds: what repercussions they will face? Will they take the feedback well? Will they get more bad than good out of speaking their minds?
In the end, when all is said and done, it’s important to focus on the positives when it comes to doing a podcast. You can share personal experiences or topics that allows your audience to connect with you in more ways than one. Sure, the world has gone viral, but exposure is good because you build not just a tolerance, but also the ability to carve out whatever boundaries are best for you. You have the power to get your voice heard and that’s what I plan to do in taking how I spread my messages to the next level.
